Be Ms Diesner, Early Childhood Peace Teacher for the Day

Your child will be the Peace Teacher for one Pre-K, one K, and one 1st grade class on the same day. Ms. Diesner will work with your child to develop a fun lesson, and will accompany them to each of the three classrooms to be their helper in teaching the little ones all about Peace. This could be a great experience for a younger OR older student alike!

Ms Glassman's Reader's Theater: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

Mrs. Glassman will join your student's class for a dramatic reading of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and then enjoy popcorn and a film showing.

Reader's Theater: Where the Wild Things Are

Mrs. Glassman will join your student's class for a dramatic reading of the book Where the Wild Things Are and then the class will enjoy popcorn and a film screening.

Muffins & a Microphone with Mr Benab

The winner will join Mr Benab for muffins and will take over the microphone for morning announcements. This will take place on a mutually agreed upon date.

Pizza with the Principal

Win a lunch pizza party and movie with your child's homeroom class!

Junior Librarian for a Day! Come learn how a school library works! Depending on your student's schedule and interest, they might learn how to shelve, help younger students pick books, or read to a class. Your student will also learn how books are selected for the library and get a chance to suggest a few titles for next year's order!

The winner and up to four friends will join Nurse Vella after school (3:15-4:15) for some basic first aid and Q&A with the nurse! Students will learn and practice basic first aid (i.e. wound care for minor injuries/burns), learn about common medical conditions (recognizing anaphylaxis, asthma), and will discuss when a situation is an emergency and 911 should be called. This will NOT result in a first aid certification; it is simply a learning opportunity! Students will need to be picked up by parents at 4:15 OR they may return to CLS if appropriate. Snacks will be provided by Nurse Vella. Date will be arranged between Nurse Vella and parents!

Pottery Classes with Ms McLaughlin

Learn to work on the pottery wheel and explore all things clay with Ms. McLaughlin. Three one hour pottery sessions after school on mutually agreed upon dates for 2-3 students or a parent and 2 kids.

Georgia Okeefe or Modigliani Oil or Pastel with Ms Stewart

You and three friends with receive an Oil pastel drawing lesson with Ms Stewart. It will be Georgia Okeefe flowers or Modigliani self portraits (2hours)

Lunch & Ice Cream with Ms Ryden

The winner and a small group of friends - up to 5 additional friends will join Ms. Ryden during a school day for lunch in the Peace Room and ice cream cones at Broad Branch. Celebrate her last year!

Open Gym with Ms Dunleavy & Ms McClure

You and 10 classmates are invited to come down to the gym for a fun hour of games of your choice! This teacher treat will occur during lunch and recess on a mutually agreed upon day with Ms. Dunleavy and Ms. McClure. Students will bring their lunch, but a special snack will be provided!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game w/ Ms Dunleavy

You and a friend are invited to catch a Nationals game with Ms. Dunleavy! There's nothing she loves more than enjoying ballpark snacks and watching the presidents run. This teacher treat will occur on June 2nd, 3rd, or 4th when that Nationals take on the Phillies at home.

Pizza Academy with Mr Lookner

Experience the fun and flavor of homemade pizza after school with Mr. Lookner!

Participants will collaborate and develop an idea for their own pizza. Then, on an agreed-upon day after school at Lafayette, participants will get to try their pizza when it's made live right in front of them by Mr. Lookner using his outdoor oven!**

We will meet in school, after school, at a mutually agreeable date to play video games together for 2 hours.

Funtastic Friday with Ms Braswell

You and 3 guests will join Ms. Braswell from 2:45-3:45p on a selected Friday for fun games and snacks of their choice. Let the games begin!

Ms Verdiner's Popcorn Math Extravaganza

The winner and two friends will enjoy counting and eating different flavors of popcorn.

Pokemon Card Game Flex Club w/ Ms Terry

The winner of this teacher experience can choose up to 5 friends to join Ms. Terry during flex time for a Pokemon Card Game Club. Bring your own Pokemon deck and battle your friends. Have some cards, but don't know how to play yet? That's ok, we can use the time to learn to play as well! We will have 5 sessions to make sure we have plenty of time to set up, learn and play! Best suited for students in grades 2-5

Perler Bead Creations with Ms Stone

You and 4 friends can join Ms. Stone during 2 Flex Times (dates to be determined with student) to create Perler Bead artworks. The possibilities are endless with these magical beads - you can design flowers, animals, even your own mini-you! Ms. Stone will provide treats and assist with heating the beads so you and your friends can take them home.

See a Musical with Ms Gemar

You and a friend will go with Ms. Gemar to see a musical! Ms. Gemar is researching ideas; it could be at the Kennedy Center or the National Theatre! More details to come!

Ms Diesner's Puppet Play & Game Time

Your child and up to four friends will stay after school for a special hour of playtime with Ms. Diesner and her puppets. There will be snacks, juice boxes, and fun games together. Date TBD, by the end of the current school year.

The lucky winner and the entire class will enjoy a movie and a treat on June 2nd.

Fun and Treats with Ms. Villagra & Ms. Wright

Gold Base Movie & Ice Cream Field Trip

Mr Johnson, Ms. Vaksman and Mr Benab will be offering a Teacher Treat for the entire Gold Base class at this years Lafayette auction. We will be taking the children to the movies and out for ice cream at Ben & Jerry's. The event will take place on a mutually agree upon date before the end of the school year.

The cost is $25.00 per child. Information to attend will be sent out to the entire class and all Gold Base students are invited, no matter if parents bought tickets or not. If you would like to support Lafayette, then please purchase a ticket!

Kindergarten Planting Party with Ms. Perll

1 Kindergarten student and 3 lucky friends will spend time with Ms. Perll after school one day. We will decorate flower pots and then plant some flowers in them. We will do still life drawings of our plants. Snack will be provided. Day to be determined after the auction.

After school we will tie-dye shirts and enjoy pizza on the Lafayette playground.

Breakfast with Ms Mundy & Mrs Goodwin

1-5 Students can join us for breakfast one Friday morning in May or June at 8:00 am (Date TBD). We will make pancakes together and read the story, "If You Give a Pig a Pancake." We will have a delicious breakfast and a fun time! :)

Games with Ms Bauer

Your child and 2 friends get to have a game day with Ms. Bauer! The group will get to stay after school one day and play different board games and activities with Ms. Bauer. This experience includes a pre-planning lunch bunch where the group will get to eat lunch with Ms. Bauer (during the school day) and plan which games they want to play. Then on the actual game day, Ms. Bauer will provide the snacks, drinks and games. If the weather is nice we may be outside, if not, we will be in the classroom. The event will be from 3:30-5pm on a mutually agreed upon Monday, Tuesday or Friday in May or June.

1st Grade Nature Fun with Ms Perll

One 1st Grade student and 3 lucky friends will meet Ms. Perll at the Rock Creek Nature Center one Saturday or Sunday before the end of the school year. We will spend a couple of hours exploring the nature center, hiking in the woods around the nature center, and having a snack together.

Picnic in the Park with Ms Campbell

The winner and two friends will join Ms. Campbell at Lafayette Pointer Park for an afternoon picnic on a Thursday in June. End the afternoon with ice cream from Broad Branch.

Cat Café & Cupcakes with Ms. Daley

Your child and one friend can join Ms. Daley to a session at the Georgetown Cat Cafe (Crumbs and Whiskers) followed by a visit to Georgetown Cupcake! The experience will take place after school hours in May or June, on an agreed upon date and time.

Day at the Golf Range with Mr Matthews!

The winner can invite three friends to join Mr. Matthews at East Potomac Links Golf Course Driving Range for two hours, in Washington, D.C. Students will learn the basic skills of golf on a selected Saturday before the end of the 2022-23 school year. Snacks will be provided. Transportation must be provided by a parent.

Ms Ratliff's Pizza Lunch with Teacher and Friends

The winning students will invite three friends to meet Ms. Ratliff for a pizza and ice cream lunch at Potomac Pizza. Parents must provide transportation to and from lunch. We will meet on a Saturday or Sunday in May or June.

The winner and four friends will join Ms. Calhoun to go to the Planet Word museum in Washington DC! It's an incredible and immersive museum about the history and function of language! There are exhibits on where words came from, painting with words, karaoke, humor gallery and more!

Entire class is invited to this lunch-time pizza lunch bunch. We will eat pizza, play games, put on a movie and the. eat some treats. This is open to every student in Ms Cassidy or Ms Bell's class to come and join the fun. $10 per student.

Movie, PJs & Popcorn Party with Ms Wojtas

Students and Ms. Wojtas will watch a movie in Ms. Wojtas' classroom and snack on various flavors of popcorn. Students are welcome to dress in PJs and bring a mat, blanket and pillow to keep comfortable during the movie.

Peace Teacher for the Day!

The winner will spend a day with Ms. Ryden helping her teach the Peace classes. The winner will help to lead mindful moments, read Kindness Pals, sit on the purple couch, help make copies, go for a "coffee" break at Broad Branch, and more! This is Ms. Ryden's last year at Lafayette.
